My signature "Carved Bark Band" takes on an antique halo form in this handmadewhite goldspinel and diamondengagement ring, made from recycled gold.
Surrounded by sparkling white conflict-free diamonds is an earth-mined Burmese spinel. It isuntreated, a silver grey inmost light and a slight purple hue in others. The stone is a custom precision cut with wide facets with excellent clarity.
Thisspinel measures about 6mm in diameter and is .90ct. With the halo setting included, the diameter of the halo is 8.80mm. The stone is ethically traceable, mined in Burma which produces desirable spinel varieties. I prefer to purchase my gemstones through suppliers who care about the ethics in mining and gemstone production and also donate proceeds of sales to underprivileged communities in these mining areas.
Elevated above the band, the halo is set atop the ring with room underneath to allow for stacking with wedding bands. The band is just a little under 2mm in width and is fully rounded for comfort. You will only find this ring here! It is my signature carved style.

About the Stone:
Spinel is a gemstone that at one time was most famous for being mistaken for ruby or sapphire. These days spinel gets the respect it deserves - it is recognized for its excellent hardness , brilliance, and the fact that unlike most ruby and sapphire gemstones, spinel is never heated or treated in any way.
Due to its very good dispersion, spinel gemstones can possess vivid fire. The intensity of spinel color is in part due to the fact that spinel is one of the few singly refractive gemstones, the others include garnet and diamond.
